MONDAY Haircare has taken the beauty world by storm with its affordable price point, Instagram-friendly packaging, and celebrity endorsements. Launched in early 2021 with four original lines - Smooth, Moisture, Volume, and Gentle - the brand has since expanded to include Repair, Color Correct, and Clarify options. With over 15 million bottles sold since its inception and availability in over 60 retailers across 23 countries, averaging 12,000 sales per day, the hype surrounding MONDAY is undeniable. This review delves into the MONDAY Volume shampoo and conditioner to determine if it lives up to its claims and is worth a spot in your shower.
The baby-pink packaging of MONDAY products is undeniably appealing. The bottles are a definite upgrade from standard drugstore options. Beyond aesthetics, the bottles are practical, featuring a pump design that eliminates the struggle of dispensing product with wet hands. The brand also emphasizes its commitment to sustainability, using bottles made with 20% recycled plastic that are 100% recyclable, including the pump. MONDAY has also promised to make its products refillable in the future.
The MONDAY Haircare VOLUME range includes a shampoo and conditioner specifically formulated for thin, fine, and flat hair. The shampoo and conditioner both have a fruity, floral scent that 100% appeals to me. I know some people don’t like their hair or body care products to smell sweet, but I’m definitely a fan. The scent is based on gardenia so it’s almost perfumy. Despite this, I wouldn’t say that it’s particularly strong and I don’t really think it’s obvious once the hair has dried.
The shampoo lathers well and it really feels like it’s cleaning your hair. As for the conditioner, this might be even better than the shampoo! I can’t say I’ve noticed much of a difference in regards to volume, but it certainly hasn’t made my hair any flatter. I would have liked to have seen a bit more body in my hair, however, I appreciate that there’s only so much a shampoo can do. If MONDAY expands their range and decides to branch out into oils, serums or treatments I would definitely be interested in trying these! The shampoo and conditioner are great but I’d love to supplement them with other hair styling products.
