Trainer customization has become a beloved feature in the Pokémon world, allowing players to express themselves and create a unique avatar. Starting with Pokémon Crystal, the ability to personalize your character has expanded significantly, offering a range of options from clothing to hairstyles. In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, the customization options are plentiful, with a variety of hairstyles and colors to choose from.
In the Alola region, you can change your haircut at any Salon. However, neither Ultra Sun nor Ultra Moon let you try out or even get a look at haircuts or hair colors before paying for the style. You’re either stuck soft resetting for the hair you want or looking at a guide much like this one here. Even at endgame, it’s annoying to unnecessarily waste Pokedollars just because you don’t like the hairstyle you picked - especially when you throw bangs into the equation.
To become a fashionista in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, you’ll need to put in some legwork. You’ll need to get your first Pokémon and play the game up until you reach Hau’oli City. Once you’ve reached the Salon, you can get a new hairstyle. However, it’s not free. To get your hair cut it will cost 4,000 Poké Dollars. To get it dyed will be 2,000 Poké Dollars. Unfortunately, there’s no preview function for hairstyles in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. You have to get your hair cut and dyed blindly and only get to see it after you’ve paid. If money is a big concern for you, you can always save your game before you try a hairstyle.
Hair Salons can be found in each town. Hair Salons are marked with a scissors icon.
